QEC UET Peshawar held the Post Graduate Program Review (PGPR) 2023-24 on 27 June 2024. Prof. Dr. Fazlur Rahman, University of Peshawar, and Dr. Naveed Jan, Director, QEC, Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology Nowshera were the external reviewers. Dr. Saeed Gul, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, and Dr. Amjad Ali, Coordinator Jalozai Campus were the internal reviewers. Dr. Safdar Nawaz, Director QEC, gave a presentation to the reviewers about the university profile and PGPR statistics, compiled by the QEC team. Postgraduate Advisors of all programs briefed the reviewers about their respective programs. The reviewers visited the Student Service Centre, where Dr. Ajmal Khan, Director Post Graduate Studies, gave a briefing on Student related issues.
A two-day training workshop on Microsoft Dynamics 365 was designed to give IT professionals and educators an understanding of how to achieve more with Dynamics 365. Topics included Getting Started with Describe Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Describe Dynamics Finance, Describe Dynamics 365 Commerce, Describe Dynamics 365 Human Resources, Describe Project Operations & Describe Shared Features. Office Assistant, Syed Abdul Haseeb Shah attended the training.
The Turnitin Feedback Studio team hosted an online training webinar on 15 May 2024 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The purpose was to highlight the role of Turnitin Instructors and elaborate on the Similarity and AI reports. The Director and the Deputy Director QEC attended the training.
Former Director QEC, Engr. Dr. Muhammad Imran Ahmad was invited to QEC to give a tribute to his services and benefit from his experiences. He showed satisfaction over the growth of QEC during the recent years and was confident that QEC shall be able to enhance the standard of processes in the university through automation and digitization. The Director QEC also presented a souvenir to the Engr. Dr. Muhammad Imran Ahmad.
The Director QEC met the former Director QEC of UET Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, (currently Director QEC, Sarhad University) at Khyber Medical University Peshawar on the eve of the Progress Review Meeting & Consultative Workshops. The two discussed how QEC evolved at UET Peshawar over the years and exchanged pleasantries. Both agreed on continued cooperation between UET Peshawar and Sarhad University in the future.
QAA-HEC organized an event, Progress Review Meeting and Consultative Workshops for Heads of QECs. The revised quality framework PSG-2023 has been designed to encourage and facilitate continuous improvement, proactive contextual problem-solving, engagement with stakeholders, and adherence to international standards. The Director QEC, UET Peshawar participated in the event held at Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. The Director QEC received a certificate from the Minister for Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Meena Khan, for his contribution to the workshop.
The Director QEC visited CECOS University as a reviewer of the postgraduate programs on 4 April 2024. The review was conducted to review the postgraduate program for the session Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 to ensure effective quality of programs. During the visit, 10 MS programs and 3 PhD programs were reviewed.
A training and brainstorming session for the HoDs of the academic departments of UET Peshawar regarding the recommendations of the Undergraduate Policy Review Committee was held in the conference hall on 28 Feb. 2024. The review findings of the Undergraduate education policy in light of guidelines from accreditation councils were presented by Director QEC, Dr. Safdar Nawaz Khan.
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) team along with representatives of Estt-1, Estt-2, Estt-4, CMS, Admissions and Examinations participated in an online orientation/capacity building session regarding Higher Education Statistics (HES) for the year 2022-23 regarding Degree Information (PQR), Enrollment, Passout, Faculty, Staff etc. The season was organized by HEDR division, Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Mr. Gul Aftab, Junior Clerk at QEC, was given a farewell at the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) on the last day of his services at QEC, UET Peshawar. He expressed gratitude for the support of his colleagues. QEC team wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
