Dr. Safdar Nawaz Khan Marwat is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering (DCSE), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar since May 2016. He has also worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at College of Science & Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Ar Rayyan, Qatar in 2022-23. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Pakistan in Mar. 2006. He got his M.Sc. degree in Communication and Information Technology from the University of Bremen, Germany in 2011. He defended his Ph.D. Thesis at the research group Communication Networks, University of Bremen, Germany in Dec. 2014. His research focuses on future mobile and wireless networks especially protocols, architectures, air interface schemes, optimization, IoT, cybersecurity, and machine learning. He worked on European Union research projects in collaboration with Technologie-Zentrum Informatik, Bremen during his stay in Germany. He came in association with the International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics, Bremen, Germany, where he was involved in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research. He surveyed the issues faced in research projects involving diverse disciplines such as communication networks, production engineering, economics, logistics, computer science, etc. along with partners from these disciplines and published the findings of the investigation as well. He has received scholarships for higher studies from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar and the University of Bremen, Germany. He has worked on several funded research projects, in various roles including the role of the principal investigator (PI).
